Stargazing Pods Installation Complete

Friday 22nd March 2019
The Stargazing Pods at Alton Towers resort is set to open on 12th April 2019, and it would appear the new accommodation is ready for its first guests. All of the pods have now received door mats along with room number above the doors.

This unique accommodation is in a camping style with the toilet, shower, baby change, and accessibility facilities all located in a facilities block in the pod camp.

Each pod has two single beds, and a double bed and that is it. Being branded as “minimalistic themed pods” all you get is a bed and a toilet block down one end of the camping site.

Sleeping a maximum of 4 people these won't be any good for large groups. Unlike the hotels where some rooms can sleep a family of 4 or 6. Reception for the Stargazing Pods is using the old Treetop quest reception building. Treetop Quest closed a few years ago after being used for two season and then being closed due to budget cuts.

More Information About Alton Towers Dungeon

Sunday 17th March 2019
The Alton Towers website has been updated with more information about the new Dungeons attraction. Just like the other Dungeons sites, the website has been updated with the route you will take through the attraction. Starting with The Judge and finishing with The Haunting. Entry into The Dungeons is not included with park tickets.

Join us next Saturday where we’re be living blogging from the opening of The Alton Towers Dungeon.

https://live.themeparkguide.biz/

You’ll be screaming with laughter whilst being sentenced by the Bishop of Stafford, before being condemned to a traitors boat ride down the Black River.

In these dark chambers, try to survive the plague, and endure humiliation as well as pain at the hand of the Torturer.

If you escape… stop at the local tavern, known to be one of Dick Turpin’s hideouts, he may even shoot by! Then visit the Witch of Burslem’s cottage... to come face to face with her ghost!

Miss it and you’ll be GUTTED!

1) THE JUDGE

FUN! THRILLS! LAUGHTER! All unforgivable in the eyes of the puritanical Justice of the Peace, the bombastic Bishop of Stafford! Take the stand in his courtroom and plead your case. In fact… it doesn’t matter, you are all peasants! GUILTY!

2) THE BLACK RIVER BOAT RIDE

You are guilty! So you are going on a little trip down the black river beneath Alton Towers. Step into the boat and take in the sights and… errr… smells of the Alton Towers Dungeons. Say hi to some of the Dungeons residents… don’t worry if they don’t wave… they’re a little tied up!

3) THE TORTURER

He has ways of making you talk… he has even more ways to make you SHUT UP! Take a seat in the Torturers chair and come face to face… or red hot poker to nostril with all the Torturers favourite devices. You’ll be screaming with laughter in no time at all.

4) THE HIGHWAYMAN

The most desperate, dashing and despicable highwayman needs hideouts all over the country. Who would have thought one would have been round the corner from Alton Towers? Pull up a chair and meet the friendly owners of the Welsh Harp Inn, nothing is TOO MUCH TROUBLE! You never know… Dick Turpin might just shoot by!

5) THE PLAGUE DOCTOR

For those of you who want to get knee deep… or even up to the elbows in the past, let me introduce you to the Plague Doctor. Gather round as we get to the GUTS of the bubonic plague, you could even get hands on! No experience necessary… must have a strong stomach!

6) THE HAUNTING

Take shelter from the storm in an abandoned cottage. Have you wondered why the cottage is abandoned? What dark and terrible story can these walls tell? Don’t stay for too long… you never know who might appear out of the darkness!

Haunted House Monster Party Almost Complete

Friday 15th March 2019
We’re now weeks away from the attraction opening to the public, Haunted House Monster party is looking very close to completion! With the queue line and ride signage started to be finished. The ride officially opens on 13th April, no photos have been shared from inside the attraction but judging from the outside we’ve got high hopes.

Looking like one big lego kit the attraction looks amazing from the outside! Progress on the attraction continued throughout the day with models on both sides of the sign being installed throughout the morning. Inside the queue line posters and more Lego models can be seen. This is by far the most ambitious project ever fulfilled at Legoland Windsor. We look forward to seeing the ride when it's complete in a few weeks time.

Room on the Broom Opens

Saturday 9th March 2019
On March 9th Room on the Broom - A Magical Journey officially launched at Chessington. Room on the Broom replaces Hocus Pocus Hall, which opened in 2003 and has been a family favourite attraction ever since, but in its later years it did become a bit tired and drew less visitors, so something new was definitely in order.

The attraction itself doesn’t look too different from the outside. Apart from a brand new sign above the door (with a broom sticking out of the window above) a much larger queue at the side of the mansion, and a new green screen photo building at the end of the queue, the overall look of the building remains the same.

A full review of the attraction can be found in our reviews section.

Progress continues on Room on the Broom

Sunday 24th February 2019
Room on the Broom is in the final stages of construction, all bar one signs referencing hocus Hocus Pocus Hall have been removed. The main sign for the attraction has been removed and repainted purple to suit the new colour scheme of Room on the Broom. Along with the entrance sign metal work being repainted, all of the pipes on the burnt stub building have been repainted purple to match.

The queue line for the attraction looks to be almost complete with the photo booth before you are batched into the ride now being installed. New paving slabs have been installed in the queue, it would appear the park is expecting this ride to get quite a lengthy queue when it opens! In previous posts, we said we expected Room on the Broom to have its own dedicated shop. It would appear that the old Amazu Shop is going to be converted into a Room on the Broom shop. A large mmm poster on the door and the work going on in the shop seems to confirm these thoughts. We look forward to seeing what the inside of the attraction looks like.
