Fright Nights and Scarefest are now less than 1 week away from opening. With Fright Nights previewing last night to Annual Pass Holders the event was a huge success, not all of the mazes opened however the ones that did got good reviews. Fright Night officially begins on Friday 5th October.
Scarefest at Alton Towers Resort begins on Saturday 6th October with the new maze Project 42 set to open for the first time. Work around the park since our last visit to the park has progressed well. With generators starting to pop up around the park, lighting rigs appearing on the lawns of Towers Street it wont be long until the entrance area to the park is transformed into Halloween.
In fountain square opposite Hex, a new stage has been installed for Patches live action show. It's currently unknown if Trick or Treat doors will be located on the same stage. Over at the entrance for Project 42 audio has been testing and a new cover of the finale of the maze has been built. Stairs can be seen to the left of the image but we expect these are only for access.
It’s currently unknown if the ride part of Nemesis Sub Terra will be open, however we don’t think the drop towers will be operational. The Welcoming also appears to have a slightly different ending this year. No longer do you walk into one large room but now a tunnel with what we expect is fire effects Iva side.
The TPG Team will be live blogging both events on the live system:
