Alton Towers Scarefest is coming around the corner quickly so construction is well underway for the scare mazes, we reported last week that Terror of the Towers will have a new route due to the way the final corridor has been set up. Nothing else visible has changed since.

It's all changing on the SW8 site at the moment with lots going on up and down the site with lots to see. Although there was no work on site with it being a Sunday there was still lots to see since our last visit last week.

Taking a leaf from Alton Towers’ book, Thorpe Park has made up its own extreme challenge within its app. Starting tomorrow, 22nd July 2017 guests are invited to participate in a challenge to get a free ticket to come back to the park on selected weekdays in September.

New for 2017 Thorpe Park introduced two new kids rides in the Old Town area at the back of the park. Joining the old Rocky Express ride, The Timber Tug Boat and Lumber Jump came second hand from another Merlin park.

Last weekend we reported on our Facebook page that Chessington World Of Adventures was experiencing a large power cut affecting sea storm, rattlesnake and the adventure point area. One week on everything seems to be working fine but it looks like it might have been something more major.

Over the past few years we’ve seen the introduction of parking charges at Thorpe Park and other Southern Merlin theme parks. Since our last visit to Thorpe Park, the price of the car park has been increased. From £6 to £7 the price has increased by 16.7%

Closed for a few weeks, X has now reopened at Thorpe Park with a few changes made inside the attraction. Along with new music made by IMAscore the rides queue line has been fully repainted, along with new lights and theming in the queue line.

Chessington has submitted plans to the local council about a retheme of the old Mystic East area into a new themed land themed around Tigers. Including new animal enclosures, Dragon Falls will receive new theming around the final drop in the form of a Tiger’s head.
