Yesterday signaled the end of the 2018 theme park season. Alton Towers put on a spectacular fireworks display on the lawns opposite the towers. With both days sold out the event was a huge success.
Work on removing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory continues at Alton Towers, the old pre-show to Charlie now looks to have been completely gutted ready for what will be the Alton Towers Dungeon.
Preparation for tomorrows fireworks display at Alton Towers continues today, a large scalding structure has appeared on the lawns along with fire effects on the lighting trusses that were used for Scarefest.
Stargazing Pods have started to be installed over at the Stargazing Accommodation center. Directly next to the Enchanted Village this new accommodation will be the cheapest in the Alton Towers Complex.
Tonight at 10 pm Thorpe Park Resort closed its doors to guest on the 2018 theme park season. Thorpe Park is the first of the Merlin parks to close for the end of the season.
Work on the new waterpark called Rulantica and the new 276 room hotel Kronasar is well underway at Europa Park in Germany. Opening in 2019 the hotel is now available to pre-book with the waterpark opening later in the year.
The drum for the Haunted House ride at Legoland Windsor appears to be complete. The theming for the drum doesn’t look to have been installed yet but the building can now be made water tight ready for the cold winter months ahead.
The theme park season at Chessington World of Adventures has been extended by 4 days, the park was due to close on 31st October. This has since been changed over the past few days with the park now staying open until 4th November 2018.
Flying into Chessington Spring 2019, Room on the Broom will be replacing Hocus Pocus Hall. Opening in 2003 the old 4D attraction has become tired over the years and has been in need of a replacement.
Work continues on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory building rumoured to be the location for a dungeons style attraction set to open for Alton Towers' 2019 season.
