There had been several rumours that there was activity around the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory building so we took a visit to Alton Towers to check it out.
Fright Nights and Scarefest are now less than 1 week away from opening. With Fright Nights previewing last night to Annual Pass Holders the event was a huge success, not all of the mazes opened however the ones that did got good reviews. Fright Night officially begins on Friday 5th October.
Foundations for the stargazing pods next to the enchanted village is progressing nicely. Although not much work has happened around the site we believe that the pods will start to be installed around the beginning of Scarefest.
Alton Towers have released new information and pricing for the new Stargazing Pods opening 3rd May 2019. Prices range between £88 and £123 per-night with annual pass discount. Featuring the bare basics, the pod includes bed linen, a takeaway breakfast and a round of golf.
Fright Nights begins in 12 days, with the Annual Pass Preview for the event being hosted next Saturday there is still a lot of work to do before the event begins.
Today we can reveal that the madhouse ride has started to be delivered to Legoland Windsor. Stored in a staff carpark, ride components are being stored ready for installation over the next few weeks. Parts for the ride have been labeled up as “Seat + Floor 4 + lapbars 1 piece”
Fright Nights 2018 is just a few weeks away and with the park being closed for 3 days this week the park has taken advantage of these closed days and had the cranes in to start construction on one of the new mazes The Walking Dead, Do or Die.
In mid-July, we reported that Thorpe Park had chosen to install new self-service stations for Picsolve on ride photos at selected rollercoasters. After being installed and inactive for a number of weeks the units have now been turned on.
The magical home has gone up for sale and is currently on the property website, Rightmove as the marketing starts for Chessington's 2019 new attraction.
Construction on the new accommodation at Alton Towers has begun. The Stargazing Lodges, opening in 2019, are set to be the parks cheapest accommodation. Containing just beds and power, the accommodation is very basic. All toilets and washing facility are contained in one central building.
