7th January 2024 Hyperia Construction Work Resumes

Thorpe Park
Sunday 7th January 2024

It's 2024 and work on the construction site for Hyperia has started again. Workers returned to work on Tuesday and have been hard at work to get the rollercoaster built and ready for the 2024 season.

Since our last update before Christmas, more of the structure for the dive stall and Immelmann has been built and the beginning of another support structure has begun in the middle of the two elements.

Over the past few days, some lower sections of track and supports have been installed. We reckon the park will get these two inversions completed first then work will turn to the lift hill of the rollercoaster. Around the rest of the site, foundations at the bottom of some supports have been filled in. With some sections of the layout now complete, some of the bases of supports can be fixed into their final position. Doors have also been installed on the maintenance building and station. No more peeking into the station!

Inside the station for the rollercoaster, theming work has begun! Black metal panels similar to the outside of the station have started to be installed. We expect the station will have a minimalist theme to it and will have gold strips similar to the outside.

Outside the maintenance bay, two large items are being protected from the elements with some yellow and green sheets. We don't expect this to be anything major but could this be parts for the trains?

It's worth noting that with all the rainfall we've had recently, monks' walk is VERY wet. If you are planning on walking down we would recommend wearing waterproof boots or wellies.
