Chessington is looking to continue to expand its lineup of rides and attractions and has applied for planning permission to install 2 new rides in the Pirates Cove area.
Looking at the planning applications it appears that one will be a Rock and Tug ride (possible Timber Tug relocated from Thorpe Park) and a new splash battle ride. Codenamed Project Anchor these two rides will be based next to the Treasure Chest arcade building and will be themed to fit in with the surrounding Pirates Cove area, called Bobbing Barrels and Trawler Trouble these two new rides would make a great addition to the parks lineup.
Bobbing Barrels if. approved and called the name found on the planning application would be the first splash battle ride found in a Merlin theme park, a similar ride can be found at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
In the planning application the rides. look to have themed huts and more theming around them. If approved these two new rides could be open in time for the summer!
