Hyperia December Construction Update From Within Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park
Saturday 16th December 2023

Working in conjunction with Thorpe Park we bring you this exciting Hyperia update from the other side of Monks Walk!

The last time we were inside the park was 31st October when the top of the overbanked turn was being installed and completed. Fast forward six weeks to 14th December and lots more track and supports have now been installed! The station and maintenance building are now watertight and the buildings look amazing.

Old Town has become the centre of a new multi-million-pound investment!

Viewing this rollercoaster from different locations within the park it's crazy to think the rollercoaster has yet to reach its maximum height yet can still be seen from many locations within the park.

Some construction fences for the site have been removed to allow better access in and out. The viewing windows installed a few months ago are still standing strong, howeverr the fences to the right of them have now been removed. Track and supports can be seen lying on the ground waiting to be installed over the next few days. With Christmas fast approaching, we expect the site will close down in the next few days.

The tower being built next to the station for the loop and inversion looks huge in person! During our short visit to the park we managed to watch a section of  track get installed and a support fly into place. With Old Town being an active construction site, you never know what you might see! Seeing the track coming out of the station as it begins to bend it looks even more insane inside the park. The banking on this first turn is going to be amazing.

Viewing Hyperia from the construction site office platform, you really get a feel for how big this project is. There's so much work going on around the Hyperia construction site! The foundations/base of the lift hill remains empty for now but we can't wait to see the lift hill for the rollercoaster be installed over the next few weeks! However, we probably won't see this installed until work resumes in the new year.
